Child Abuse Survivor's War

Throughout the years, I have been told and asked such things as “Why do you want to keep wallowing in it?,” “Just get over it,” and "It's in the past, you just have to stop thinking about it." It is not a matter of the survivor willing herself or himself well by choosing not to think about it any longer. No one tells war veterans to “Get over it,” perhaps because everyone knows about their war and their wounds. The war I was in was surrounded with walls of silence from those who knew and said nor did nothing.
